Senior Business Development Manager (Posted 4/25/08)

Seeking a successful professional to lead business development and to identify and capture business in specialized FLIR Displays and Communications Displays in Ground Vehicular and Avionic Applications.

The candidate must have strong knowledge of Display Technologies, Ground Vehicular Programs and Systems, as well as Avionic Tactical and Communications Display systems and Programs.

The candidate will be evaluated on:
(1) technical knowledge and the ability to understand and communicate that technical knowledge to industry including customer, partners and staff.
(2) prior experience with major integrators of defense systems including: US Government, PM FLIR, L-3, Raytheon, DRS, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Boeing defense contractors.

The candidate will be able to identify key customer and market requirements as well as develop successful plans to capture targeted opportunities.

The candidate will use various company resources to implement and manage capture plans including driving development.

The candidate will understand and support the overall company goals with integrated capture plans and objectives.

The candidate must possess the skill and experience to overcome obstacles to meet marketing and development goals.

  • Required Skills, Education, Knowledge and experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Technical discipline that support our markets
  • 7 or more years experience in Business development
  • Experience at successfully winning new contracts for new products
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • Experience with defense personnel and program requirements
  • Military Background with experience in required markets and systems
  • Ability to create successful team to capture new targets
  • Ability to communicate with all levels Company, Customer, and team members
  • Experience with leading, preparing, and submitting proposals

Quality Manager / Engineer: (Updated 4/25/08)

Review military contracts and proposals to ensure compliance with Palomar Quality System
Maintain the ISO 9000 established system by conducting audits, schedule audits, reviewing operating procedures and participating in management reviews.
Responsible for incoming inspection including maintaining and updating vendor rating system, NCMR system, and management review system.
Maintain and train inspectors and prepare reports and corrective actions on findings.
Responsible for document control: member of ECN process, signature authority for release or changes to drawings related to fabrication of mechanical, electrical/electronic and optical components and/or drawings related to assembly and testing of products
Maintain and update calibration system.
Maintain, update and schedule employee training for soldering certification per IPC-A-610, Class 3 and static sensitive employee training per JESD625-A.
Responsible for scheduling and controlling government audit and inspection of product shipped per military contracts.

Education/Background Desired:
Minimum of AA or AS Degree with 5 years related background in company quality systems and statistical process controls (Six Sigma).

Experience/Knowledge Desired:
Minimum of 5 years working with military quality and ISO 9000 systems.
Working experience with military programs and military quality systems.
Hands on experience participating in and managing the company quality system used to govern contracts for the purchase of parts, the processes to fabricate parts, assembly of parts, qualification and testing of parts/assemblies and shipment of these display based assemblies containing CRT displays or LCD panels to our customers.
Technical knowledge of CRT and LCD based displays and mechanical drawing and tolerance requirements of machined and sheet metal parts.
Working knowledge of processed and controls used in fabrication of circuit cards, optical lens and lens assembly, casting and machining of chassis and miniature CRT’s (2 inch diameter and smaller).
Proficient in MS Office programs including NS Word, Excel, Outlook.

Special Requirements:
US Citizen capable of obtaining US Security Clearance.
Ability to travel to vendor locations on east coast and within Canada.

Job Title: Electronic Test Technician (Updated 4/25/08)
Performs extensive functional and operational tests on electronic and electro-optical display systems, determining the cause of any malfunction and making necessary adjustments and repairs.
Works from specifications, test procedures and data sheets, schematics, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, oral and written instructions. Functional test, diagnoses and repairs analog and digital printed circuit boards to component level. Sets up and operates various types of standard and specially designed test equipment. May assist engineering in the final checkout of new systems and establishing new test procedures, testing and troubleshooting aids. Test complete display system, calibrates, aligns, and adjusts each unit for customer shipment.

Must be U.S. Citizen and ability to read and write English
AS degree in Electronic Technology or military equivalent.
