Successful
candidate will be responsible for solid modeling,
and electronic packaging of displays (LCD, CRT, and
Microdisplay), touch screens, backlights, inverters,
video circuit cards, power supplies, and interface
connectors into one stand alone enclosed chassis/housing.
Duties will include participation on teams, as well
as working independently, to provide mechanical engineering
expertise in design and development of military displays,
documentation, and validation of mechanical display
assemblies.
Duties
& Responsibilities:
Senior
mechanical design engineer with system level experience.
Must employ good solid modeling practices in design,
and have experience using Pro\E Wild Fire 4.0.
Able to be a resource for other engineers to assist
in solving technical issues.
Working
knowledge of documentation practices per MIL-STD-31000,
including
ASME Y14.100.
Provide
electrical engineering with outline mounting, connector
placement, and keep out areas for circuit card assemblies
used within the display enclosure.
Interface
with optical engineering for optical components mounting.
Prepare
and participate in preliminary, and final engineering
design review process.
Design
and work with other engineering disciplines to meet
systems, electrical, optical, and environmental requirements
(temperature, vibration, and shock) per customer specification.
Education
& Experience Desired:
BS
degree in mechanical engineering with 10+ years design
experience working with military electronics and optics.
Extensive
engineering problem solving experience.
Experience
with packaging military electronics, and optics including:
sealing, thermal management, environmental, and EMI/RFI
design requirements.
Working
knowledge of good engineering practices and producibility.
Must
be a hands on mechanical engineer with system integration
background.
Able
to answer technical questions during design reviews
and customer presentations.
Working
relationship with suppliers of mechanical hardware,
with machine shops for fabrication of part from .igs
or .stp files and with paint shops for coating or
painting machined parts.
Skilled
in use of MS Office and Power Point
Strong
written and verbal communication skills
Special
Requirements:
US
Citizen, capable of obtaining US Security Clearance
